Where to go
The bus terminal is in the Arrivals area in front of Exit 4 of Terminal 1, and tickets are sold there — at the booth or at the transport authority's own machines — rather than only on board.

The airport bus is a separate €2.00 fare product, not the ordinary city ticket. It buys unlimited travel on the special routes for seventy minutes from the first validation.

Easy to get wrong
The night service is a different line number, 01N, on the same corridor as the daytime 01X — both run to the city centre, the new railway station and the KTEL Makedonia coach terminal.

The metro does not reach the airport. Lines 2X and 3X exist only to feed it, at the Nea Elvetia and Mikra interchanges, so any metro journey begins with a bus.
