Arriving and airport services
Meet & greet: being met on arrival
Can someone meet me at the airport and guide me through arrival?
On this page
In short
A meet-and-greet service places a person at the arrival point — often with a name board — to guide you through the airport and to your onward transport. It is useful for first-time visitors, families with a lot of luggage, and anyone arriving late in an unfamiliar airport.
It is a paid convenience, not an official entitlement. Many airports and airlines provide free assistance to passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility, arranged in advance through the airline: check that route before paying for a private one.
What it usually includes
- A named contact at the agreed arrival point and time.
- Help with bags and directions, and sometimes a walk to a taxi, a driver or a train.
- In some products, help through queues — check exactly which ones, since border control itself cannot be handed to someone else.
What to confirm before you rely on it
- The exact meeting point and how the person will recognise you.
- What happens if your flight is delayed: does the meeting time follow the flight or expire?
- A phone number that works when you land, and how to reach it without a local SIM.
- What is and is not included — luggage help, transport, waiting time.
- The cancellation and no-show terms.
Check before you buy
- Ask whether the service tracks your flight or fixes a time.
- Save the meeting point and the contact number offline.
- For assistance related to disability or reduced mobility, ask your airline in advance about free assistance.
- Read the no-show and cancellation terms.
