Easy to get wrong
Since the December 2024 timetable change, Intercity Direct no longer calls at Amsterdam Centraal at all - it now starts from Amsterdam Zuid instead. A traveller starting from Amsterdam Centraal itself takes the regular, supplement-free Intercity over the older Amsterdam-Haarlem-Rotterdam line, which is still a direct, no-change service.

Wikipedia's own HSL-Zuid article states the Amsterdam-Rotterdam journey fell to around 43 minutes once Intercity Direct opened - that figure describes the old Amsterdam Centraal-boarding ICD product before the December 2024 change and is not reproduced here as a current time for this specific corridor.
