The final section of Bybanen Line 1 to Bergen Airport Flesland opened 21 April 2017; the line is light rail, largely street-level with some reserved track, run under contract by Tide Buss og Bane AS on behalf of Skyss (Vestland county's transit authority) - not a heavy-rail or metro service.

Easy to get wrong
Bergen has no Vy or SJ Norge heavy-rail service to its airport - Bybanen light rail is the only direct rail option, unlike Trondheim and Oslo where a conventional commuter/express rail line reaches the airport.
