    CFR Calatori operates a direct rail spur connecting Henri Coanda Airport's own station to Bucuresti Nord in roughly 20-25 minutes; the spur (about 3km of new double track plus a 1.5km viaduct) opened in December 2020 and is a real, currently-operating service.

  • Status

    STB (Societatea de Transport Bucuresti), the municipal operator, runs express line 100 -- the renumbered former line 783 -- from central Bucharest (Piata Unirii, Universitate, Piata Victoriei) via Baneasa to Henri Coanda Airport.

  • Where to go

    As of an April 2026 STB announcement, construction at the airport means line 100 (and line 442) currently board and alight only at the Departures terminal, not Arrivals -- an arriving passenger has to walk an internal corridor from Arrivals to Departures to catch the bus, a real and currently-true practical trap, tied to ongoing terminal construction.

  • Easy to get wrong

    Do not confuse this operating rail spur with Metrorex's separate M6 metro line to the airport, which is still under construction and targeted for around 2028 -- the CFR rail link is the one that actually runs today.
