Track renovation on the Budapest-Győr-Hegyeshalom line has InterCity/EuroCity services (Scarbantia, Savaria, Mura, Dráva) running from Budapest-Kelenföld rather than the usual Keleti/Nyugati, through works expected to finish by the end of 2027, per MÁV's own traffic-info page - check the current departure station before travelling.

GYSEV (Győr-Sopron-Ebenfurti Vasút), a genuinely independent Austrian-Hungarian joint-venture railway, runs some of the InterCity services on this corridor (e.g. Scarbantia, Savaria) itself alongside MÁV - not merely a MÁV subcontractor brand.
