Irish Rail operates a direct Intercity service between Limerick Colbert and Galway Ceannt on the Western Rail Corridor, with intermediate stations at Sixmilebridge, Gort, Ardrahan and Craughwell -- no change of train required.

Easy to get wrong
The Limerick-Galway service already running today only reopened the southern Ennis-Athenry section of the historic Western Rail Corridor -- the further northward extension to Claremorris/Ballina is a separate, unbuilt future phase and should not be assumed to exist yet.
