  • Easy to get wrong

    An ordinary Madeira bus ticket is not valid on the Aerobus. The network's own fare rules exclude the Aerobus service by name, so the airport shuttle has to be paid for separately — €6.70 on board against €5.55 bought beforehand.

  • Tickets

    Tickets bought on board are cash only. The network states plainly that card payment is not possible on the bus, which catches people who landed with nothing but a phone.

  • Hours

    The Aerobus runs 08:30 to 22:00, every half hour in the morning and hourly from the early afternoon. There is no night service and none at all on 25 December.

  • Easy to get wrong

    The line goes west past the city to the hotel strip: Avenida do Mar is 24 minutes, the Lido 38, Fórum Madeira 42 and Praia Formosa, the terminus, 50. Two of the printed stops are stale — number 7 still reads "Terminal SAM" although SAM stopped running buses here in 2024, and number 3, Campo da Barca, is marked disabled.
