Flytoget is no longer a genuinely independent state company: it is now owned by Vygruppen AS (Vy's parent), the merger finalised by April 2025, and its separate brand is scheduled to cease in December 2027 when its service folds into the regular Vy network - a traveller booking today still buys a Flytoget ticket, but the operator is now part of Vy.

Vy's regional R10/R11/R12 trains call at Oslo Airport Station on the same line as Flytoget, giving a materially cheaper direct alternative - a traveller who only checks Flytoget can miss it.
