Status
SJ's own press release (27 March 2025) states that during 2024 an average X2000 journey between Gothenburg and Stockholm took 3 hours 5 minutes - stated as an average across the year's services, not a single fixed scheduled time, since individual departures vary with the number of intermediate stops.

Easy to get wrong
The open-access competitor on this route rebranded from MTRX to VR Snabbtåg Sverige between August and November 2024 after Finland's VR Group completed its acquisition - a traveller searching for the older 'MTRX' or 'MTR Express' name will not find current live departures under that brand.

Fixed fare
SJ Regionaltåg also runs this corridor as a slower, cheaper alternative to Snabbtåg on the same route - rail.cc's own operator-type page names Stockholm-Gothenburg as one of Regionaltåg's longest routes, so a fare search should specify the service tier rather than assume all Stockholm-Gothenburg trains are the fast Snabbtåg product.
