Easy to get wrong
This is one of the few Italian airports with its own railway station at the terminal. Twenty-eight interregional trains a day run on the Trieste-Venice line and twenty on the Trieste-Udine line, plus six Frecce to Venezia Mestre.

Where to go
The bus station sits beside the terminal at the Redipuglia exit of the A4, with a heated waiting room, vending machines and toilets - useful, because neither the trains nor the coaches run all night.
