Made possible by a new 22 km European-standard-gauge (1435mm) line between Chop and Uzhhorod, opened 5 September 2025 with revenue passenger service from 12 September 2025 - Ukrzaliznytsia can now run its own standard-gauge trains from Uzhhorod directly into Slovakia without a bogie change or passenger transfer.
