Before you land

The parts people get wrong. Each one links to where we checked it.

  • Fixed fare

The ordinary €1.20 ninety-minute ticket is explicitly not valid on the Koropi–Airport section of Line 3, nor on the airport express buses. The airport needs its own €9.00 ticket, which is then good on every OASA service for ninety minutes from the first validation.

  • Hours

The X95 runs 24 hours a day, which makes it the answer for a flight that lands after the metro's last train at 23:34 or before its first at 06:10.

  • Easy to get wrong

Not every Line 3 train goes to the airport. The core of the line runs every four to ten minutes; the airport and the outer stations at Pallini, Peania-Kantza and Koropi are served every 36 minutes, every day of the week.

  • Hours

The Saturday all-night metro service does not include the airport: routes to and from it are excluded from the 24-hour operation, so after 23:34 the express bus is the only way in.

  • Easy to get wrong

Boarding and setting down are restricted in opposite directions and at all hours: on the way to the airport you may not get off, and on the way from it you may not get on. It is an airport shuttle, not a city bus that happens to pass.

  • Tickets

You can tap a contactless card or phone at the blue validator on boarding for the full €5.50 fare with nothing bought in advance. The €9.00 metro airport ticket is not valid on this bus, and the express ticket covers one journey only.

  • Status

Engineering work on the Eleonas–Monastiraki section, announced from 7 September 2026, turns airport trains back at Syntagma after 21:40. Check the operator's notices before relying on a late through train.
