Before you land

The parts people get wrong. Each one links to where we checked it.

  • Easy to get wrong

The Leonardo Express is the only train that goes to Roma Termini. The FL1 regional trains from the same station serve other Rome stations including Tiburtina, so which one you want depends on where you are sleeping, not on the price.

  • Hours

The Leonardo Express leaves Fiumicino from 05:38 to 23:27 and Roma Termini from 04:50 to 23:05, every 15 minutes. FL1 runs every 15 minutes on working days and every 30 at weekends.

  • Where to go

If you end up on a coach rather than the train, every company has its own stand: COTRAL at the T1 stop, Rome Airport Bus at 19, SIT at 16, T.A.M. at 17 and Terravision at 18. Interregional coaches use stands 20 to 26 at T3 Arrivals, by exit 6.

  • Tickets

Tickets are sold online, at the station ticket office, at self-service kiosks in both the airport and the station, and by authorised retailers - cafes, tobacconists and newsstands.

  • Fixed fare

A Leonardo Express seat is 14 euro. Four people travelling together can buy the Mini-groups fare, which is 40 euro for the four tickets instead of 56.
