  • Easy to get wrong

    HSL's I and P trains are ordinary commuter-rail loop services, not a dedicated non-stop airport express like Stockholm's Arlanda Express - VR's own long-distance InterCity/Pendolino Plus trains do not call at Helsinki Airport at all, so searching VR's timetable for an airport train will find nothing.

  • Hours

    The I train (Helsinki-Tikkurila-Airport-Myyrmäki-Helsinki) takes about 27 minutes; the P train runs the same Ring Rail Line loop the other way (Helsinki-Myyrmäki-Airport-Tikkurila-Helsinki) and takes about 32 minutes - pick the faster direction when timing matters.

  • Status

    HSL's own page warns that maintenance work in spring/summer 2026 affects I and P services, with every other I train turning back at Myyrmäki towards the airport rather than continuing, until 4 October 2026 - check current departures before relying on the usual pattern.
