Easy to get wrong
Gatwick Express no longer advertises a guaranteed 30-minute journey time - the Advertising Standards Authority ordered Govia Thameslink Railway (now the state-owned Greater Thameslink Railway) to drop that claim in 2018 after poor punctuality, so a traveller relying on an old '30 minutes to London' reference should expect more variability.

Status
As of 31 May 2026 both Gatwick Express and Thameslink are operated by the same publicly-owned company, Greater Thameslink Railway - the two brands still run different stopping patterns, but they are no longer commercially separate businesses the way they were under the old franchise system.
