ÖBB's own destination page advertises numerous direct services and shorter journey times on the Vienna-Graz corridor since the Semmering line upgrades, but does not itself publish one fixed duration - independent sources currently put the run anywhere from just under two hours to about 2 hours 40 minutes.

Status
The historic Semmering line this route uses is limited to roughly 60-80 km/h over much of its mountain crossing; the Semmering Base Tunnel under construction is expected to cut about 30 minutes off this journey when it opens around 2029/2030, not before.

Easy to get wrong
The December 2025 Koralmbahn opening improved Graz's onward connections south to Klagenfurt, not the Vienna-Graz leg itself - travellers should not assume the new line shortened this specific corridor.
