ÖBB's own press release for the new Koralmbahn timetable states the Vienna-Klagenfurt journey is now 3 hours 10 minutes, 45 minutes faster than before the line opened, with 26 direct connections a day - up from 10 - since 14 December 2025.

Where to go
ÖBB's own Vienna-Klagenfurt route page lists an ÖBB Transfer Kärnten shuttle service running onward from Klagenfurt Hauptbahnhof, alongside separate 1-hour, 24-hour and leisure tickets for local public transport bought at the station.

Easy to get wrong
Before December 2025 this journey required routing via the old Semmering-Süd corridor and was materially slower; older printed guides or cached journey-planner results predating the Koralmbahn opening will overstate the current travel time.
